Causes: Food, Food Programs
Mission: Mission 4 Nutrition serves to provide nutritious foods and promote healthy living practices while also fostering unity in primarily minority communities by actively engaging community members in events that emphasize physical activity. While many events have been modified or postponed due to the pandemic, we remain steadily committed to our goal of increasing access to fresh produce in low-income communities. With a median household income under $46,000 prior to the pandemic, there was a need before and an even greater need for this service now. There has been an increased need for programs aiding in food insecurity as financial hardships resulting from COVID have increased. Additionally, with the transition of academic planning to fully online for the time being, we see an increased need for free meal programs in the area.
