I feel grateful they helped me in the past when no one else would, but their reach is very limited, regarding who they will help, or what they will help with. They mostly just focus on getting revenge photos taken offline, and on physical abuses just like all the other domestic violence legal services out there. Beyond that their communication skills are limited if you reach out to them about more complicated issues, they seem worried they will lose their funding or upset the wrong people. The legal service at MCEDSV seems to place too much emphasis on the legal rights of abusers. They will ghost you by not answering emails, texts, or phone calls, rather than taking the time to explain what simple step in a legal situation might be useful.
Mary Keefe and the staff helps support domestic violence agencies. When I needed more information and assistance in finding research on new designs for domestic violence shelters they knew right where to look. They provided links and insight on the future of shelters.
