My name is Kay Twa and I would like to tell you about Metro Ministries. I am a member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana and I am also the president of the United Women in Faith Unit there. Metro Ministries has been the bridege which has helped Chapel Hill United Methodist Church reach and serve the needs of our community and beyond. Through the Metro Ministries Grants Program, funding was provided to maintain and uplift our food pantry which currently serves more than 120 families two Saturdays per month.
In early 2024 we partnered with Once Upon a Child clothing store to receive their discarded clothing and we opened a Kids Clothing Corner where families are able to select children's clothing on the Food Pantry Saturdays. Through the grant from Metro Ministries we were able to purchase storage units and supplies to display the clothing by size and we were also able to purchase a commercial size washer and a dryer to ensure that the clothes are clean.
We are so very grateful to have been able to partner with Metro Ministries as we work to be Christ's hands and feet serving our neighbors and community in His name.
