Mission: The memphis tourism education foundation's mission is to deliver authentic memphis hospitality through a trained and motivated workforce. The foundation supports tourism and hospitality professionals across the spectrum of the industry. Working directly with employers, supervisors, and guest contact staff, the foundation delivers professional development training, certification, recognition and resources. Through this effort, the foundation assists the memphis convention & visitors bureau in furthering the bureau's stated mission.
Programs: Promoting a new standard of customer service and raising expectations of hospitality and tourism professionals by supporting them in their interactions with visitors across the memphis area.
providing professional development training and certifications for people who interact with visitors - aka "first impression" professionals. These classes increase participants' customer service skills and destination knowledge.
recognizing professional excellence by honoring guest-contact employees who have gone above and beyond at the foundation's annual pick awards event. Great service is recognized weekly on social media outlets as well.
