Both of these programs have been widely recognized as being very effective in the area of drug prevention and character development. The young marine of the year is awarded recognition in the form of funds to further their education. The youth physical fitness national team competition is held annually in san diego and top scoring male and female teams and individuals are recognized with cash awards.
disaster relief - provide assistance to 5 marines and their familes who have experienced a natural disaster - $9,655. Provided grant to childrens organ transplant association - $2,000.
