Programs: Youth fishing program: the marina del rey anglers (mdra) youth fishing program is in its 35th year and is one of the largest in california. It hosts over 500 young individuals, ages 10 to 16, including blind and autistic youth groups as well as inner city, at-risk and disadvantaged youth groups. Mdra sponsors a day of fishing in the santa monica bay. Mdra members volunteer to provide instructions, fishing tackle, snacks and etc. During the trips. All fish are released alive to promote and teach conservation early on.

Over the past 16 years mdra volunteers raised and released over 85,000 yearlings. This restoration program is instrumental in helping to restore a badly depleted fishery
halibut & other conservation program: the marina del rey anglers (mdra) volunteers work with a salt water fish hatchery to provide halibut brood stock to help facilitate scientific study of halibut demographics and preservation. The hatchery is licensed to operate by california department of fish and wildlife (cdfw).
