Programs: March for life - the march for life (1/22/14) is the single largest annual gathering of pro-life advocates in the world, drawing tens of thousands from around the country and globe to peacefully protest the human rights abuse of abortion, and to advocate for a culture of life in the united states. Participants gather on the national mall for a rally including remarks, videos, and music from a variety of cultural leaders - political, religious, sports, entertainment, students, etc. Participants then march up constitution avenue to the us supreme court and the capitol, where they meet with elected officials about enacting positive, life-affirming policies. The event is covered by all major mainstream and new media outlets.
public education - the march for life conference is designed to provide participants with in-depth education and assistance to help promote the yearly pro-life theme. Speakers and training sessions offer tools for participants to help build a culture of life in their local communities (01/21/14). The expo hall (01/21 - 01/22) provides participants with an opportunity to learn about and network with dozens of pro-life groups, strengthening the movement as a whole. Finally the march for life president speaks to various groups on pro-life themes, in addition to doing substantive media throughout the year (ranging from mainstream tv interviews to opinion pieces) on a variety of pro-life issues.
legislative efforts - the march for life is actively engaged on capitol hill throughout the year giving a legislative "voice" to the tens of thousands of participants in the january rally. The march for life seeks to change the legislative process to enable more pro-life initiatives, first by unifying pro-life groups to work towards common goals, and second by communicating regularly with members of congressional leadership to educate them about policies that will foster a culture of life in america.
digital media - the march for life digital outreach fosters a culture of life by using new media to engage both in-person and remote participants. Such an approach gives a "voice" to the pro-life generation, and allows for cyber education on the annual theme in the form of memes, videos, pictures, powerful quotes, hashtags, etc. Additionally, year round, our digital media work provides for ongoing education and communication about pro-life initiatives and current events, be it down syndrome awareness month or adoption promotion or the many others. We reach hundreds of thousands of americans every month, and millions during the month of january.
