Programs: Accounting services: map accountants help nonprofit organizations establish and manage accounting and financial management systems and practices that result in appropriate oversight and use of financial resources. Map accountants help nonprofits account for restricted funds appropriately, and prepare needed financial reports for their board of directors, funders, and regulators. Map helps nonprofits identify and adopt recommended financial policies and procedures, and create and monitor budgets, prepare regulatory reports and more. Accounting services helped 231 organizations in 2014.
strategic services: map works with nonprofit leaders, nonprofit boards, and representatives from communities served to strengthen nonprofit organizations, through: recruiting board members for 47 organizations; developing 20 strategic plans; assisting 31 organizations with strategic alignment; assisting 7 organizations with financial sustainability processes; helping 11 nonprofits with organizational development; hosting monthly leaders circles for 84 nonprofit participants; providing professional coaching and leadership training and 119 nonprofit leaders; conducting board development work with 56 nonprofit organizations; providing board training (board boot camps, advanced board boot camps, and board chair) to an additional 1571 individuals.
technology services and training: map helps nonprofit organizations to effectively use computer technology in their work. In 2014, our technology program helped nonprofits to assess their computer systems, develop technology plans, prepare for database projects, upgrade computer systems; network computers and protect electronic assets through computer system maintenance. 71 such projects were completed. In addition, map helped nonprofits increase their staff members' and volunteers' capacity to work effectively with computers through training and facilitating online nonprofit technology discussions and guidance. Map also provided technology training to 300 individuals.
