Mission: Making Headway Center offers survivors of a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) or other brain injury the emotional and practical support so often needed following such an injury. This may include counseling, support groups, accessing local resources, finding employment, in- home support and cognitive remediation. The Center also offers brain injury prevention education in school classrooms, at health fairs, bike rodeos, and other events throughout Humboldt County.
Programs: Provided brain injury specific services, including but not limited to, case management, counseling, advocacy, education, professional consultations, pre-vocational assessment and exploration, job development, systems navigation support, support groups, recreational opportunities, family therapy, transitional and supported living, benefit assistance, independent living skills assessment and training, and early intervention treatment programs.
