Mission: To educate, provide for and assist those living in poverty in madison county, mississippi, through our food pantry, clothing closet, community garden, educational and home repair programs.
Programs: Provided uniforms and supplies for school to needy individuals. Provided christmas gifts and food to impoverished children at christmas. Provided clothing to approximately 5,581 needy individuals. Provided emergency assitance to 59 impoverished families in the form of paid utilities, food, medical and rent.
housing services: completed 51 housing repairs and began rehabbing one home due for completion in 2018 for impoverished citizens in madison county, mississippi.
food pantry: provided groceries to over 4,900 families (approximately 11,582 individuals), which included 11,295 pounds of fresh produce from our helping hands garden of h. O. P. E.
the new attitudes educational program had 402 individuals complete 12 hours of adult basic education and those individuals were eligible for new school uniforms and supplies for their children and/or for help during the holidays through our "adopt a child" christmas program. Madcaap had 33 adults completed 12 hours of "english as a second language" class and 83 children attended summer reading and tutoring programs throughout the year.
