I love Love Without Boundaries. I have been involved with them for eight years and know that each child they care for is put first, cared for and loved. They fight for the children that noone else is fighting for, and have saved the lives of many through the medical care they help make possible. They also provide education to the impoverished, in areas where school hasn't been available before. Sponsors get regular updates. All of my interactions with LWB have shown that they are ethical and wise with donations.
Love Without Boundaries (LWB) is an organization which truly lives up to its goal of TRANSFORMING THE LIVES OF ORPHANED & IMPOVERISHED CHILDREN. One of the many amazing aspects of LWB is the variety and creativity of their many programs, including medical care / education / nutrition / foster care / child trafficking aid and other programs.
My introduction to LWB was through my son Jaden. Jaden was born in China and was orphaned as an infant. LWB arranged for him to have the two surgeries that he needed, and it was only AFTER surgery that he was listed as a candidate for international adoption. His orphanage director later told us that Jaden would never have been listed for adoption if LWB had not arranged for Jaden’s surgeries.
So it is an absolute fact that without LWB’s intervention, we never would have even known that our son Jaden existed. He would still be living in an orphanage and he would never have a Mom, Dad, brothers, or sisters. Now he has five siblings, and he is a source of joy to all who know him!
My relationship to LWB has evolved over the years. After Jaden came home, we became donors to several of LWB’s programs, and about one year ago I began volunteering for LWB.
LWB has a large team of volunteers from around the world, several of whom work hard to keep the donors informed about the lives of the children who are being transformed by LWB. This communication back to the donors is one of the many defining characteristics of LWB.
LWB has created multiple programs over the years to improve the lives of thousands of children. Over the past 15 years, MORE THAN 50,000 CHILDREN have been DIRECTLY IMPACTED by the programs of LWB!!!
The following information is provided on their website:
Over 10,000 pediatric medical cases and evaluations, with 4,300+ surgeries and hospitalizations
3,500 children placed into foster homes
3,700 children given access to education
6,400 children served through our nutrition program
780+ children given specialized care in our healing homes
1,300 orphaned children enrolled in summer camps
25,000 cleft bottles distributed to orphanages and maternity hospitals
45,000 coats and blankets distributed to orphaned and rural children
700 special projects completed, including new cribs, playgrounds, wheelchair projects, and more
21 physical therapy trainings, including two at the national level
7 special education trainings
17 medical exchanges between US and Chinese physicians
3,000 copies of our Manual of Special Needs distributed to orphanages
In addition, over the past couple of years they have built schools in two rural villages in Cambodia and are providing education, food, water, and health care to more than 300 children living in the region.
As a volunteer, I recently had the opportunity to travel to the villages in Cambodia to see the impact of the programs firsthand. While there I got to meet many of the children, and as a physician I performed physical examinations.
Prior to LWB’s programs there, the great majority to the children were so severely malnourished that most of them were not even on the growth charts for height or weight. Many were so malnourished that their hair was actually discolored as a result.
Also, the great majority of the children in the area were not able to attend school due to financial issues, family issues, transportation issues, and/or due to the risk of being abducted in this area which is known to have a high risk of child trafficking.
Now the children are able to get an education and are provided with nutritious meals!
After visiting the schools, I can state without hyperbole that LWB’s programs are truly TRANSFORMING the lives of these children.
A first grader recently expressed her appreciation this way:
"I really like the hot lunch program at school. Before, I didn’t get to eat lunch because my dad doesn’t have enough money to feed everyone in the family. I eat as much as I can during the LWB lunch, so then if I don’t get dinner at night I don’t feel as hungry."
LWB now provides her and her classmates TWO hot meals per day!
There is no way that I can really express the impact of LWB on so many children’s lives in this review. But I will share the story of one more child.
Charles is a teenage boy whose femur (thigh bone) was broken in late 2016 when he was struck by a hit and run driver. He did not have any access to medical care, and his leg became severely infected. By the time LWB learned of his condition, Charles had a very real risk of losing his leg. LWB was able to get him to a hospital in nearby Thailand for treatment. His infection was treated, and he then had a surgery with placement of some impressive hardware!
I got to meet Charles at my recent visit, and he is doing amazingly well. He has full use of his leg and has no pain!!
Here is the impact that LWB had on Charles, in his own words:
"I’m so grateful to LWB and their donors for providing medical care to me which allowed my leg to be saved. It was a gift I will never forget the rest of my life. Because my broken femur was repaired, I can now go back to school, which gives me real hope."
Truly his life has been transformed by the intervention of LWB!!
As I mentioned, there is no way that I can share the scope of LWB’s impact on so many thousands of children. I do recommend the following resources to help get more of an idea of LWB’s impact.
I highly recommend that you visit LWB’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/lwbfanpage
I highly recommend that you visit LWB’s Website at www.lovewithoutboundaries.com
I highly recommend that you visit LWB’s Blog at www.lwbcommunity.org
I highly recommend that you read the book about the early years of LWB: https://www.amazon.com/Heart-Orphan-Amy-Eldridge/dp/0979463939/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1538843046&sr=8-1&keywords=amy+eldridge
Again, there is no way that I can give an idea of the scope and impact of LWB on so many thousands of children.
But if a picture is worth a thousand words, let me leave you with three pictures and one video of my son Jaden. (He is wearing the red shirt in the first picture and the USA swimtrunks in the third picture.)
Without LWB he would not be with his family. He would still be an orphan. Instead, he is a loved child.
Three of our four sons adopted from China were served through LWB programs. We will always be grateful for the care they received. We have seen the benefits of this care first hand. I appreciate the transparency of the organization and its sound fiscal management.
Wonderful non profit that is powered by passionate volunteers who believe in the mission of Love Without Boundaries. This is what makes this organization stand out, it is all volunteers, and all heart. They are constantly reevaluating how they can best help children in impoverished communities around the world and have worked miracles for so many orphaned children and impoverished families that need help with education or medical needs. I also love the personal contact that donors receive from the organizational volunteers to thank them for their donations and also keep them updated on the children they've sponsored.
Love without Boundaries goes above and beyond to communicate with sponsors. I love getting the monthly reports and seeing all the good they do
This organization does wonders for special needs orphans in China. As a donor to their foster care program, I get monthly reports for my sponsor child. I love to read about the antics of the little guy I sponsor and see him grow in the monthly pictures! They have a great group of volunteers that do a huge amount of the work, so your money goes a long way.
LWB is a fantastic organization doing powerful work arpund the world with disadvantaged young people including orphans and other marginalized children. They are fiscally responsible and transparent with a world-wide team of volunteers and staff dedicated to improving lives in an ethical manner.
I have been a volunteer for Love Without Boundaries Foundation since December 2006. The work done by this charity over the years has been amazing. So many lives changed by medical procedures that have saved lives and put them on the path for adoption. Even many who will not have the opportunity to be adopted have been helped nutritionally and educationally. I donate to very few organizations that I trust and LWB is one of them. An incredible amount of the work to put these programs into practice is done by volunteers. They are an excellent example of service and accountability.
I have one daughter that was helped by LWB's education program, and I have been a volunteer for Love Without Boundaries for almost 4 years. It is a privilege to help so many children through my work and know that through the volunteer efforts of many others as well, a lot of children are helped medically, educationally, emotionally and physically. I think LWB does an amazing work.
Love Without Boundaries really believes in its motto that ever child counts and has a team of dedicated people who knows that every small action counts. It has been wonderful volunteering with LWB and knowing that I'm making a difference in a child's life - however small. LWB is very well organized and communicates effectively to everyone inside and outside the organization
2 of my 4 children received medical care while they lived in China before our family adopted them. I have been a volunteer now for several years and we have helped raised funds to support the medical programs offered by LWB. We also donate to LWB.
We sponsor a little girl in a healing home in this program. It is wonderful getting monthly updates on her and seeing how much she has grown and what new things she can do. We love seeing her photos and hearing how she is doing after surgery. Its a wonderful charity and we love to sponsor their mission to help children in China.
Full disclosure--I am a volunteer with Love Without Boundaries, and have, at my own expense, traveled with the organization on medical missions for children with cleft lip and palate. I can vouch for the consideration and love that goes into each of the Love Without Boundaries' programs. The child is foremost, and with the cultural awareness and respect that is part of every endeavor, entire communities benefit long term. Love Without Boundaries lives up to its name in all it does.
I started out as a donor/sponsor with Love Without Boundaries because I was impressed with their work with babies and children in China who were in need of medical help. I have since become a volunteer with the organization as a coordinator for one of their many education programs. I am consistently impressed with the breadth of Love Without Boundaries' many programs in various countries that address so many needs--medical, education, nutrition, foster care, water, family preservation--and they do it in a way that truly meets those needs in a culturally respectful and sustainable way.
I have learn about Love without Boundaries in the most wonderful way - through the adoption of my grand daughters. One in particular was helped in a way that was only possible because of LWB. She was in their healing home after having life changing surgery, also made possible by LWB. They then placed her with a foster care family, that took excellent care of her until her adoption. I am so grateful to this organization and impressed by the number of programs around the world they now foster.
I have two wonderful grand daughters because of Love Without Boundaries. One in particular benefited from their cleft lip program and foster care. I don't even want to consider what their lives would have been like without this program. And it is for that reason I donate towards the education of a child in China. LWB also at times makes special requests. A recent one was for a young girl in Africa who needed surgery outside her own country. It is nice to know that my contribution can help a child in need and to get an update on that child
I first heard of Love Without Boundaries in 2010 through a friend. We had donated to help a child who had the same complex medical history as our daughter did. This child needed life saving surgery and medical treatment and had LWB not intervened, I believe she would likely have not survived. Two years later, we became the proud parents of that same child through adoption. I now serve as a volunteer with LWB. Seeing the "behind the scenes" work LWB does through my role as a volunteer has only made me respect LWB even more than I already had! They are an organization that truly lives up to their name, and I stand with them in the fight to help orphaned and impoverished children around our globe!
"Every Child Counts" It is absolutely true for this organization.
Love Without Boundaries is an amazing charity that truly puts every child first. The money you give really goes to what you are giving it to. Amazing, life changing work!
Love Without Boundaries is an amazing organization that helps orphaned & impoverished children in China, Uganda, Cambodia, and India. Their motto is "Every Child Counts", and I truly believe that this the heart of the organization. LWB considers each child in their programs as an individual - ensuring that they receive the education, nutritional, and/or medical care that they specifically need. Our family has seen the lives of many children truly transformed by LWB! This agency is extremely ethical and uses donor funds exactly as promised, while also working hard to provide culturally-appropriate care. I recommend LWB very highly!
I first became aware of the tremendous work of Love Without Boundaries (LWB) in 2012 when we adopted three children from China, who each had somehow benefited from the organizations' efforts. The organization is amazing and the love and passion all of the staff and volunteers have for caring for children is unbelievable. They do amazing work in many countries, providing medical, educational and nutritional care to those who would no doubt not survive if it weren't for LWB. I will forever be indebted to them for what they did for my children before they were in my family, and I am honored to volunteer my time to contribute to helping other children.
They helped my sons receive life saving surgeries. Such an amazing organization.
This organization is run with the utmost professionalism and love and passion all for the benefit and care of children who most need it. Despite regulatory challenges to continue operations the CEO and board and worked tirelessly to continue their mission of helping children in whatever aspect they can. It's been an honor and privilege to be part of something so wonderful
I currently volunteer here and have seen first hand how much love and work are provided for these children. Each child is cared for individually and advocated for to the furthest extent possible. All the work is done from the genuine care and concern from everyone's hearts and it is evident in the quality of programs and care provided for the children. LWB not only works with orphans but are dedicated to helping prevent orphans through their Unity Initiative and also for children left behind from working parents. It speaks volumes to the depths of the love from this organization for the children.
I have volunteered for LWB for over 10 years. One of the reasons I love supporting LWB is its strong core of volunteers which means funds donated go to help the kids, not to administrative salaries. Volunteers make this happen and donors know their money goes to what their hearts feel is important! I continue to be amazed at cost effective solutions to big problems as LWB helps in the many countries it serves.
I have been a volunteer with Love Without Boundaries for 8 years now. Because the organization has only a few paid staff, the focus is always on the children. The majority of each dollar goes directly to services such as foster care, education and medical care. The unity initiative is reducing child abandonment through the provision of medical care that birth families cannot afford. One of my children was served by education, foster care, and medical care and she was healthy and easily adjusted to life in our family. The children thrive with the love and attention they receive from this organization.
