I've loved my 5+ years volunteering with LVC. I've been able to make a big difference in the lives of their clients with only a small effort from me, plus I feel great about the time I give! I've driven people to dialysis appointments, gone grocery shopping, picked up prescriptions, and more. Best of all is the emotional connection I feel with the clients when I am volunteering.
I have volunteered at Loudoun Volunteer Caregivers Inc. (LVC) for the last 11 years. My experience has been that this organization is consistently well run and attracts staff and volunteers who demonstrate a genuine heart for people in need. I highly recommend supporting this organization.
Have volunteered for LVC for over ten years and have served as a Board member for a few years as well. The best part of volunteering is knowing that you are assisting people in need. I take great joy in meeting people and learning about their lives, knowing they are appreciative of the services we provide. We enable people to live in their own homes when otherwise they might not be able to do so. Our so doing reduces costs to taxpayers while pleasing our clients. All this at n cost to the clients! What’s not to like?
I was Chairman of the Board for several years. and have nothing but praise for this organization! They do a great job of helping those in need in our community!
I have been volunteering with LVC for several years. They provide a great service to the Loudoun community. I enjoy meeting new care receivers who are so appreciative of every little bit of help they receive. I would love to see more county residents get involved on the volunteer side.
As a recently retired territorial sales manager, I looked for something meaningful to do which could make a difference. I have found this in volunteering with the Loudoun Volunteer Care Givers. Spending time with so many wonderful and grateful people has enriched my life by helping them obtain much needed medical care, delivering life sustaining food, helping with household chores and assisting with language challenges. I've been called an angel, a lifesaver, and a friend. I've wanted to make a difference and many of my care receivers have told me that I do. There are too many people in need of assistance and I applaud this charity for enabling a culture of selfless service to our neighbors and it is my absolute honor to bring joy and comfort to so many people.
I had an opportunity to assist an elderly woman with light house cleaning every other Saturday. She had stage 4 cancer and a difficult time walking.
She became a second mother to me, I was 57 :). I was with her for 3.5 years before she passed away in April 2020.
I have been a volunteer for many years in the money management group. I wanted to add another type of service and this was it.
This is a wonderful nonprofit to volunteer with. There are so many folks in need of their services, and never enough volunteers.
I have been a volunteer for Loudoun County Caregivers(LVC) for almost 25 years now. It has been a great pleasure to work with such a dedicated staff and the other volunteers during this time. They all work very hard in coordinating with our Care Receivers and the wonderful group of volunteers who provide that assistance. The requests range from bill paying support, food deliveries, transportation to medical appointments, kindness visits for seniors who have mobility issues, and just being a friend to someone who needs to see a smiling face. I have seen so many Care Receivers tell me how much they appreciate all that we do for them and I can see that in their eyes. LVC is a wonderful organization that should be recognized for what they do in our community. God Bless them all!
I have been volunteering for this nonprofit for 9 years. The organization has shown itself to be well managed and have volunteers who are highly motivated and truly care about people. My area within the nonprofit is money management. I and many others manage the finances of dozens of individuals so that their medical and physical needs can be met and so they can live independently as much as possible.
I have been a volunteer driver for over 10 years. During that time, I have driven a number of clients. All are grateful for the service LVC provides. They have often said that they don't know what they would do without LVC. There are 2 in particular that have become "family" to me. I now see them outside of my volunteer assignments. One lives in my community and, as the oldest of 4, I consider her my big sister. Additionally I worked with a young lady who had LVC manage her finances. She was most grateful. They even helped her save money so she could move to Florida to be with her mom and brother.
This organization is completely dedicated to its mission. Its leaders demonstrate the values that they hope to see in their volunteers: commitment to helping others, giving of their personal time, going the extra mile to ensure that people get the help they need, and ensuring that people in need are served regardless of race, color, religion, creed or sexual identity. Though I schedule several volunteer activities each week through the highly efficient online system, I do get frequent calls for help on short notice and often put aside my plans in order to pitch in. I know that other volunteers agree with me that we get more out of this work than we contribute in time and energy. Most of the recipients are extremely grateful for the help we provide, which helps us remain highly motivated to assist in whatever way we can. I have volunteered with several other nonprofits, but none as commendable as LVC.
Loudoun Volunteer Caregivers (LVC) is the best organization I have volunteered with! The caregiving opportunities are varied and well organized, and I have met the most wonderful people (care receivers and LVC staff). I wish there was a chapter or version of LVC in every county in the country. There is certainly a need for it.
I have volunteered with Loudoun Volunteer Caregivers for many years. As my needs have changed, I have become a care receiver. The generous volunteers and staff are outstanding.
i AM A 71 Y/O SHUT-IN AND DEPEND ON LOUDOUN VOLUNTEER CAREGIVERS, INC. (VCi) TO PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION TO MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS AT VARIOUS LOUDOUN COUNTY LOCATIONS, AND DELIVER MEATS, FRESH VEGETABLES AND FRUIT, CANNED GOODS, MILK AND EGGS BIWEEKLY TO MY HOME. VCI'S VOLUNTEERS ARE PLEASANT AND DEPENDABLE.
A Loudoun Volunteer Caregiver delivers groceries from the food bank twice a month. I suffer from severe lung disease and no longer venture too far from my front door. I watch this dear woman carry bags of food to me, and I think really it's a heavy load even for the able bodied. We chat for a bit, and then she's off to deliver canned goods, meat and fruit, bread and pastry to the next low-income/disabled family. There is no accounting the gratitude I can extend to the LVC.
This organization does so much with so little. It's incredible. Hundreds of volunteers help hundreds of people right here in our community. The quality of life that Caregivers provides to the elderly and disabled in our community is heart-warming. No one wants to tell a someone they can't or shouldn't drive anymore. And if that means they can't stay in their home, it can be heart-breaking.
Caregivers enables people to stay in their homes and live their remaining years in comfort and with dignity. Caregivers through its volunteers offers so many services to those in need: they deliver groceries; they provide car-rides - getting people to doctor visits; they provide money management, which can prevent fraud targeted at our vulnerable senior citizens. They do this and so much more.

This organization is helping a lot of appreciative elderly people who really enjoy and help they can get.
