Programs: Longview teen court is a preventative-based alternative sentencing program allowing juveniles to take responsibility for their actions. After pleading guilty to the offense, and being assigned to teen court the juvenile must successfully complete all required phases of the program (which includes, but is not limited to: community service, jury terms, educational classes), their case is dismissed by the original sentencing judge. During the 16-17 fiscal year, longview teen court reported the following statistics: 1. 139 cases were tried 2. 71. 22% of all defendants successfully completed the teen court program 3. 2747 hours of community service hours were performed by teen court defendants 4. 203 jury terms were assessedlongview teen court maintains an office in the city of longview municipal court building.
