Programs: Programs from 1/2017-12/2017:dcjs grant:in june 2017, biashelp, a division of lincs was funded by the nys department of criminal justice services to assist long island school districts in the implementation of the dignity for all students act (dasa); assist in the training of anti-bullying coordinators; develop anti-bullying policies and code of conduct including anger management and anti-violence services to youth providers. In 2017 biashelp, a division of lincs conducted 60 training/ workshop sessions reaching 1,000 community members. Programs included: mercy ministries, suffolk county police department, c. W. Post college, farmingdale college, and bay shore middle school. Topics included bullying, techno bullying, youth violence, stereotyping and cultural sensitivity. Audience of educational programs included students, parents, school administrators, community based organizations, etc. My brother's keeper grant:in 2017, lincs was contracted by the hempstead school district sponsored by my brother's keeper grant to conduct anti-bullying workshops for 5, 000 students to the district's 7 elementary and middle school. Org offered extensive information for those seeking further guidance on preventing and coping with bias, discrimination and violence with 2,892 hits to our website pages in 2017. In 2017, biashelp, a project of lincs website (stoptechnobullying. Org) provided information and insight into techno bullying phenomenon and a mechanism to access support for individuals who are victims of techno bullying, with 7,705 page views. Biashelp's facebook page provides communities with up to date stories on hate crimes, bullying, cyberbullying, anti-semitism, gay bashing and provides an arena where individuals can comment on postings and to link to other important sites.
lincs is the owner of a 30,000 square foot building that rents to two nonprofit agencies on long island; long island association for aids care, inc (liaac), and the research foundation of suny at stony brook. Lincs receives payment to act as a third party administrator for affiliate organizations under a purchasing agreement for employee medical and health benefits, pension administration, other insurance needs. Women, infants and children (wic) program in 2015, the wic program that is operated through stony brook university hospital medical center renewed lease agreement for an additional 5 years to utilize space in the lincs building. The wic program will provide low-income pregnant and nursing women, infants up to 1 year old and children up to 5 years old, who are considered to be nutritionally at risk with supplemental, nutritionally sound food in addition to nutrition education and counseling as well as referrals to other social service providers.
