Mission: To provide a safe, caring environment that promotes sound economic, social, cognitive and physical development of children while strengthening and encouraging positive relationships among childcare professionals, families and our community.
Programs: We successfully operate a high quality early learning center for children ages one year to pre-kindergarten age. We operated 251 days per year and served over 40 families. Our average daily attendance was between 14-16 children per day. Our objective is to continue to operate at this level for the future. In addition, our long term goal is to obtain a lease for our property and design and build a new facility so that we can increase our enrollment to better serve our community.
Friends of Girdwood Tennis Courts recognize the importance this non-profit plays in raising healthy children in our community. The "Little Bears" play daily on the tennis courts adjacent to their daycare facility. Unfortunately 30 years of neglect have left these courts in total disrepair with major sink holes, frost heaves and extensive cracking. Once a great place for kids to ride trikes and learn to ride bikes or skate, this public facilities poor state of disrepair makes playing in this space a challenge. We support Little Bears need for safe and secure places for kids to exercise outdoors and hope that our combined efforts will help achieve our common goal of repairing the valuable public facility so kids of Girdwood can again play here safely.
