Mission: Early Childhood Resources began, as did many child care programs, during the early 1940s. Child care was needed for women working in place of men serving in World War II, and area church women opened The Day Nursery. Later sponsored by The Junior League, The Day Nursery eventually was turned over to a community board.
As child care needs grew and child care subsidy became available, The Day Nursery Association grew, changed names, and eventually evolved into Early Childhood Resources. In the '70s, Early Childhood Resources became the central agency for child care subsidized services for three Florida counties, and specialized in a multi-disciplinary approach to the social services, family support, technical assistance and other programmatic requirements of the funding.
Our mission is to provide a diverse array of early childhood services that help children and families be "ready for school, ready for work, ready for life."
