Programs: The lewis county hospital foundation's main purpose is to raise funds and awareness for lewis county general hospital. The gala, the foundation's signature fundraising event, provided funds to purchase $40,000 in safe patient handling equipment. The hospital foundation manages the lewis county general hospital fund for hope, a fund that is dedicated to making the journey with cancer less stressful by helping cancer patients with funds to help to defray some of the travel costs associated with cancer treatment. To qualify to receive funding from the fund for hope, applicants must be lewis county residents or utilize the services of lewis county general hospital. The caitlyn r. Pate fund is also housed under the hospital foundation and supports families who have lost a child through miscarriage or stillbirth. The fund purchased a cuddle cot for crouse hospital and rome hospital in 2017. The lewis county hospital foundation continues to maintain a strong partnership with the northern new york community foundation. The funds (the sustainability fund and the endowment fund) are managed by the community foundation. The sustainability fund is a permanent fund is structured and designed to provide the flexibility to meet current and future needs of lewis county general hospital in a disciplined, thoughtful and enduring way. The endowment fund is also a permanent fund that is the ultimate way to support the needs of lewis county general hospital now and in the future. A percentage of the fund's value will be available consistently year after year as a reliable source of assistance to support the hospital's services to the community.
