Lalafofofo has had tremendous trailblazing success with its nutrition and education initiatives. It has grown organically by identifying the most pressing needs in the area it serves and figuring out how to meet them on the community's own terms. And it has a long term vision--not a band-aid, but a transformation, especially for Maasai girls who would otherwise be sold in marriage as young as 10 years old. Lalafofofo is growing out of the angel investing round, and ready to take their proven programs to the next level. I am proud to have supported their early development and look forward to their future growth.
I am a huge supporter of Lalafofofo for multiple reasons. First, the mission of helping change the trajectory of many girls in Tanzania who might otherwise be married at a young age is truly amazing. Furthermore, the org engages and educates youth in the US by connecting them with community-sustaining projects that address some of the areas needs. Lalafofofo is a wonderful nonprofit that provides support to rural villages in Tanzania with a focus on helping school children and young girls. They truly have a partnership with the communities they serve and create sustainable projects with long term effects. By volunteering with Lalafofofo, I've learned so much about the world. Lalafofofo helps volunteers gain a global perspective and engage with diverse communities in need.
We have given to Lalafofofo because this non-profit not only changes the lives of girls in Tanzania who might otherwise be forced into marriage at too young an age instead of completing school and learning agency, but it also provides an incredible opportunity to teenagers in the states to visit and work with the school children in Africa in the most positive way. The teens who have volunteered with Lalafofofo also have a life changing experience that carries through their college years. I highly recommend Lalafofofo which is run with heart, passion, and responsible business practices.
