Causes: Labor Unions
Mission: The purpose of the organization is to act as a collective bargaining agent for lakewood, washington police officers for the purpose of improving wages, hours, and working conditions and the quality of health, welfare, well-being, and life of the members of this organization. The organization may engage in such other activities from time to time as the executive board sees fit in order to promote this purpose. Such other activities may include (but are not limited to) civic, educational, and charitable activities that further the organization's exempt purpose.
Programs: Legal fees are paid to retain our "guild" attorneys. They offer guidance in all aspects of running our organization (ie. Discipline, contract negotiations, officer involved shooting representation, and any other lpig legal matters). Primarily they offer us services in regards to contract negotiations and disciplinary guidance for members.
membership dues to wacops and porac for members. Porac is for each member in the event they need legal representation for some reason that is not covered by lpig attorneys or the city of lakewood attorneys. Disability insurance is also provided to wacops members.
