Mission: To help build a more just society by creating model programs for disadvantaged populations. The activities focus primarily on helping israel overcome the challenges facing five groups, described in schedule o.
Programs: Employment initiatives: joint israel aims to expand employment opportunities for special populations, who are defined as those that have greater difficulty than others in finding employment appropriate to their skills, as well as populations that start out from a relatively low skill level. Joint israel's goals in its entrepreneurship efforts are to develop culturally sensitive services for members of special populations that have the potential to join the workforce or entrepreneurship world.
children and youth: joint israel develops different services through the youth and education division as well as ashalim (the association for planning & development of services for children and youth at risk and their families). Joint israel's youth and education division initiates, develops and operates educational programs that view the child within the broad social environment, emphasizing the development of innovative responses for under achieving populations: potential and actual drop-outs, members of vulnerable immigrant groups, particularly those from ethiopia, and the caucasus region and in the minority sectors.
elderly: services for the elderly are provided through eshel, the association for planning and development of services for the aged in israel (hereinafter: "eshel"). A partnership between joint israel and a consortium of key government ministries, eshel operates on the basis of five-year plans, developed with its partners to reflect national priorities. Eshel uses modern technology to improve the quality of life and develop programs for the lonely and isolated elderly population, as well as develops special programs for people with dementia.
