Mission: The corporation was formed for the purpose of (a) promoting the practices of judaism as a means of self-discovery and growth; (b) deepening individuals' connections to religious and spiritual practices through a new learning methodology that combines traditional jewish learning with exploration through the creative arts; (c) organizing retreats, fellowships, and other group activities that provide individuals with the opportunity to study and then enhance their learning experience through hands on engagement with the creative arts; (d) promoting the inherent creativity in every individual through group study and community events and activities; and (e) contributing to judaism's ongoing relevance and vibrancy.
Programs: Immersive: in january 2018, we led our first studio immersive: a five-day deep dive into jewish inquiry and creative process. The immersive brought together 19 participants, diverse in demographics, from across the country. We received twice as many applications as we had spots available. Professional development: in 2017 jsp led 30 unique sessions for client organizations. Half of these were professional development. For the other half, we were hired as content/experience providers to expand organizational capacity. Six were for a national audience including sefaria, hillel international and upstart. Ongoing offerings: jsp offers a series of ongoing programs including morning spiritual practice and torah study, open studio, shabbat & high holy day services, creative spiritual preparation for major jewish holidays, and classes and one-day immersive experiences.
