I have been volunteering with Elena from Into the Wild for over a month, and cannot recommend this non-profit highly enough. She is extremely knowledgable and incredibly dedicated to caring for wildlife. She is also a great teacher and takes the time to teach volunteers (such as myself) who are interested in becoming rehabbers. Volunteer hours are very flexible and Elena is great about staying in touch and answering questions. Anybody interested in wildlife rescue/rehabilitation, or simply interested in donating their time to a great cause, won't regret contacting Into the Wild.
I am currently volunteering and learning with Into the Wild, under the care of the founder, Elena Rizzo. This is a great nonprofit for the community, educating people on humane ways to resolve wildlife problems. This is also a great way for students (or anyone) who is interested in a career working with and for animals, especially wildlife, so they can fully understand the dedication it takes to become someone who cares for the environment and all its creatures.
Into the Wild Inc. has done many rehabs on many animals including turtles, bunnies and raccoons. I for one delivered 6 baby (eyes not opened) to the rehabber who last I knew had a survival of 5 of the 6.
While we very much appreciate this review, it was not written by a Board Member as indicated.
I currently volunteer with Into the Wild, Inc. This organization has been wonderful to work with! Elena, the organization president, is very knowledgeable, willing to teach and is incredibly passionate about helping the public interact humanely with wildlife. The other volunteers are friendly and share the same passion as Elena.
Into the Wild, Inc continues to educate themselves, as well, ensuring their own knowledge is up to date.
I've been impressed with their work and am happy to be part of this organization.
