My family has been a donor to Including Kids Autism Center for over 5 years. Although we do not have a child with autism, I have seen the work of this non-profit first hand through their Bridge Inclusion Program through a local private school that my children attend. My kids have developed friendships and have learned so much by experiencing the different ways that kids can learn and communicate. I value this experience as a parent. Including Kids has a mission that 100% of clients in their program are included in the community AND they are! Within recent years they launched a job skills/independent living program for young adults in their program. It's been powerful to see the work being done to improve the employment possibilities for their clients. Our community becomes a better place the more inclusive we become. Mission: The mission of including kids, inc is to provide educational & therapeutic instruction using the principles of applied behavior analysis for children with autism & related developmental delays, endeavoring to facilitate their inclusion in the community.
Programs: Including kids provides research-based behavioral intervention and instruction for children and young adults with autism and other related delays, endeavoring to cultivate their learning and social skills in order to facilitate their inclusion in the community and inspire them to become productive citizens. The full-time program uses applied behavioral analysis to address the areas of language, communication, social skills, executive functioning, academics, self-help and behavior. Programs incorporate research-based intervention and instruction including shaping, reinforcement and task analysis. As appropriate, programming focuses on teaching functional academics and meaningful life skills through vocational and personal exploration to provide an age-appropriate setting for young adults on the autism spectrum to learn important skills in preparation for their next step in life.
