Causes: Crime & Law, Half-Way Houses for Offenders & Ex-Offenders
Mission: The mission of i care ministries is to establish, maintain, and operate a christian outreach and resource center where a place of refuge is available along with physical and spiritual nourishment, biblically based training, worship, recreation, fellowship, and ministry for adults and children. I care ministries will provide the resources, education, and opportunites that allow people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds to live reconciled, healthy, and abundant lives. I care ministries will also provide opportunities for people to share their gifts, talents, and financial resources with those in need.
Programs: Food, fellowship, and other items and assistance are provided to those in need. Breakfast and lunch are provided monday through friday to the general public. An evening meal is provided friday. There is no cost to the individuals for those meals. In 2014 over 22,000 meals were served. Another part of this ministry is a food box program whereby those in need may get a box of food once per month. Approximately 70 food boxes were distributed in 2014. Other items available for those in need are baby layettes and clothing.
temporary housing is provided to pastors and others in need.
a shelter is in process of renovation for housing homeless women and children on an emergency & temporary basis.
food distribution program - fresh food (produce) is distributed to individuals in mahnomen, clearwater, & beltrami counties of minnesota, as well as to 3 northern minnesota native american reservations. In 2014 approximately 18 tons of food were distributed as part of this program.
