Causes: Health, Rehabilitative Care
Mission: HTH believes that any person with special needs deserves access to high-quality therapeutic services, regardless of their financial circumstances. Our organization is committed to helping keep therapeutic horseback riding services affordable in the Flathead Valley. That's why our volunteers dedicate themselves to raising funds and educating our community about the unique benefits of this type of therapy. We write grants, apply for corporate sponsorships, and put on benefit auctions and dinner fundraisers. We've held picnics and dances, auctioned artwork and raffled prizes, and encouraged local businesses and individuals to donate whatever they can in support of our cause. We've helped park cars and direct traffic during community events, and every summer HTH offers refreshments at our lemonade stand at The Event at Rebecca Farms. And we're always on the search for fresh fundraising ideas, because the money we raise helps make this unique therapy affordable for those with disabilities. Although the medical community recognizes the benefits of therapeutic horseback riding services, most insurance companies don't cover the expenses yet. HTH was founded to help bridge this financial gap. For 17 years, our organization has provided financial assistance to help offset these costs. HTH provides around $5,400 financial aid every month and funds over 1,000 therapeutic riding sessions each year. Without the financial support HTH provides, many people with disabilities couldn't afford access to these services.
Results: We have served families in the Flathead for 25 years, providing families with financial assistance. We continually fund raise. We now have our goal of serving our Veterans at no charge.
Programs: Provide funds for the physically impaired and developmental disabled individuals for therapeutic horse riding that provides physical and psychological benefits. Aproximately 70 individuals are now using the program.
