Programs: The hlsr educational fund awarded 497 $20,000 and 5 $9,000 scholarships for texas students to attend texas colleges and universities. It funded another 140 scholarships to texas students participating in and selected by 4-h & ffa. 57 other scholarships are awarded to students studying specific programs at universities. In addition, the achievement scholarship was awarded to other existing scholars, a total of $1. 2 million awarded to 100 students.

the scholarship alumni association was established in 2014 to give all show scholarship recipients a chance to continue and be a part of the houston livestock show and rodeo. Joining the alumni association provides members a chance to give back to the community and organization, connect with current scholars and network with past scholars. Alumni who received a four-year undergraduate show scholarship and graduated college with a degree are eligible for a complimentary life membership with the show.
