Causes: Hospices, Human Services
Mission: Hospice Quality Care Bell-Childers Foundation was founded in 1998 to provide education for the community and hospice care-givers on matters related to care of the dying with a focus on comfort and a death with dignity. Funds are also used to provide care for those patients who do not have any other source of payment. No patient should be denied hospice care at end-of-life. This foundation strives to provide funding to allow hospices to care for each patient with the same level of compassionate care regardless of their ability to pay. Funds provide for medications, nursing, home health aides, chaplains, social workers, physicians and therapists as well as equipment such as beds, wheelchairs, oxygen, etc. Funds are also used for public education on hospice care and to educate medical caregivers on end-of-life palliative care including pain management.
