Mission: Hoshizora Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to helping underprivileged Indonesian children get proper access to education through supports within the concept of educational ecosystem, including scholarships, teacher empowerment, and parents engagement programs. We envisioned the world in which all the children have access to education and realize their full potential, creating a better world to live in. Hoshizora has 5 missions : 1. To ensure every child get proper access to education because it is the foundation of a better life. 2. To help children build up their confidence, have a positive attitude and positive thinking about their future, and thereby become productive, proud citizens who make contributions to a better world. 3. To inspire and help children to find their dreams and make them into a reality through proper education. 4. To facilitate children’s discovery of their potential and their development to the fullest. 5. To promote social awareness where people can come together, hand in hand, to help underprivileged children in the world.
Results: Since 2006, Hoshizora Foundation has been distributing basic education scholarships for almost 3,000 recipients and university scholarships to 348 recipients. The total scholarships are worth more than 30 billion rupiahs. In collaboration with 149 area coordinators (who are mostly teachers), Hoshizora Foundation scholarship recipients spread over 641 schools in 21 regions across Indonesia. A number of 1,093 scholarship recipients have finished their 12-years of school in the last decade.
Target demographics: All underprivileged Indonesian children get proper access to education and realize their full potential
Direct beneficiaries per year: 2270 Adik Bintang, 147 local teachers, and more than 500 parents.
