Mission: The hope chest for women provides financial assistance, education and emotional support
Programs: 1. Our wnc cancer patient support program provided over 1040 hours of financial navigation and resource referral to 107 unduplicated female cancer patients. We provided $67,740. 20 in direct financial bill pay, gasoline, and food assistance to women in cancer treatment. 2. We provided community outreach in wnc to an estimated 1,200 women. This included attending health fairs to promote cancer prevention/early detection, giving formal presentations to local churches and civic groups, attending cancer support group meetings, and distributing care packages to cancer patients undergoing treatment in chemotherapy clients.
3. In 2017, the missions of hope program had 24 volunteers participate in 1 medical mission trip to santa barbara, honduras. A total of 83 non-duplicated patients were seen during pre-surgery screening clinics. 28 operations were performed by our surgeons.
