Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Homeless & Housing
Mission: Our Philosophy is “A Hand Up, not a Handout.” As a private, nonprofit organization, Homeless Solutions has been helping the homeless and working poor in our community since 1983. We are unique in what we do. It’s not just about providing a warm meal and a place to sleep. Our goal is to give those who we serve the tools and surroundings they need to rebuild their lives and become self-sufficient.
Results: **100% of households who graduated from the Family Program moved to positive housing destinations. **86% in our Single Women's Program had income upon graduation **1159 bed nights proved by our Warming Center for street homeless individuals, a different population from our program-based shelter. This program served 66 unduplicated people, including 7 that entered our Shelter Programs **70% of the Families in our Transitional Housing Program increased their income during their time in the program **100% of the families in our Outreach Program (for graduates) remained houses, meaning no one cycled back into homelessness. This program served 37 adults and 77 children.

Programs: What sets our nonprofit apart from others is our Continuum of Housing options including our Emergency Shelter, Transitional Housing Program (THP) for families, Mt. Kemble Home for senior women, Warming Center for street homeless in the winter, Promising Solutions campus for single women in shared housing, and the 74+ Affordable Rental Housing units we own and operate.
