Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals

Mission: Heaven’s Helpers Pet Rescue is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, based in Ellis County, Texas. Our primary focus is pulling senior and medical needs dogs from high-kill shelters. We do street rescue, and also accept owner-surrendered pets as resources allow. HHPR maintains a very small facility, and relies on foster homes to help our rescued friends along their journey to becoming forever family members. Heaven’s Helpers has been known to save many species of animals, from dogs and cats to pigs, mice, chickens, lizards, rabbits, and more. Our prayer is that every animal on earth have the chance to know love, comfort, kindness, and mercy. We do our part through rescue, rehabilitation, adoption placement, community education and support, and spay/neuter.

We adopted our 4 dogs from Heaven's Helper PR two years ago, and cannot say enough good things about Molly and her rescue/adoption mission. Yes, she is particular about who adopts her furever babies --- as she should be! She devotes her life to rescuing abused and abandoned dogs. She wants to make sure it's the right placement --- for everyone involved, especially the dogs. We ended up not getting the first little girl we inquired about, and Molly was right!
Our daughter and her family also adopted one of their dogs from Molly.
We whole-heartedly endorse and support Molly Chance & HHPR. ❤️

I have been in the rescue community for almost 10 years and I have to say this is one of the few reputable, legit, and genuine rescues I have the privillege of knowing. Transparency and trust is vital when it comes to fund raising and animals lives. This rescue has compassion, dedication and integrity- any volunteer, foster or animal would be blessed to be part of the Heaven's Helpers team.

I certainly had a great experience adopting my Moxie from Heavens Helpers. I found her online, contacted HH and got a prompt call back. I filled out the application, gave permission to contact my veterinarian and was sent photos and Videos and information. Mollie did a home visit and actually brought Moxie to me. Because Moxie had some potential chronic health issues Mollie and I had several productive discussions about her future and how to handle problems that might arise. She has followed Moxies progress, answered questions and been very helpful through the year I have had my darling Moxie. I have have experiences with other rescues and feel though Heavens Helpers is a small rescue group, they do a big job. I give them much credit for what they do.

Heavens Helpers brought me the love of my life! I instantly fell in love with Benjamin but he was sick in the hospital at the time. HH was giving him the best of care though. I was very happy filling out the application for Benjamin because it is so detailed and I could tell they are truly looking out for their animals safety and happiness. They came out and did a home visit shortly after. I was glad for that as well because it proved that they truly care about safety and compatibility. Once they approved that Benjamin and I were a perfect fit, we still kept in contact. They love getting updates on how Benjamin is doing. Since then, I have fostered multiple dogs for them and I’ve seen first hand their love and respect for animal rights and the high standards that they hold themselves to. True dog lovers will absolutely love working with them.

Heavens Helpers Pet Rescue are Angels. They are fierce advocates for animal welfare. Molly invests her time, her heart, her own finances into saving the hardest of cases. Phoenix, an emaciated dog abandoned out in the middle of nowhere. She spared no expense in trying to save his life. He left this world knowing he was loved and that not all humans were unkind. Roman, a dog dumped at a shelter suffering from distemper, a broken spirit, had given up. Molly worked tirelessly to help Roman get a comeback. She made some ground and improved, but the disease was too far gone. A preventable disease that a simple vaccination would have prevented this. Waylon and Jessi, a couple of feral dogs that Molly was able to earn their trust over time. She was able to trap them and find a foster just 8n time for Jessi to give birth to 8 little future rockers. Last but most definitely not least, Papa Bear. A senior Pomeranian who was left abandoned on the streets, taken into the shelter, where vet recommended to euthanize if not rescued immediately. Immediately came in the form of Heavens Helpers. Molly, as she always does, invested all her love and energy into saving Papa Bear. And she was successful. Papa Bear made a successful comeback. He lived almost a whole year, in a home where he was spoiled and doted on. Where he could be happy. He crossed the bridge peacefully with Molly holding his hand. The list goes on forever. Butters, NoNo Lucas, Astrid, Bear, Homer, Barn Puppies, and on and on and on. Each individual animal has their name. Has their story. Has their Molly. She is proof there are Angels among us. For Jack-Jack and Shorty with and abundance of love and hope for the future.

I adopted my dog, Loki from HHPR 3 years ago after I saw his picture online. He was picked up by one of Molly’s volunteers from a high kill shelter 250 miles away. I have followed HHPR on social media since that day. She is a true advocate for all living creatures. She has devoted her life to helping as many as she is able. If you are considering adoption from a rescue that will stand behind you for the long haul, give Molly a call. If she doesn’t respond for a couple of days, it’s because she is probably crawling under a barn to help a litter of puppies, sitting in a field trying to gain trust from a starved, scared dog, driving hundreds of miles to pick up an abandoned pig, or sitting at the vet while making sure an animal feels love while leaving this world, even if it was only for a few hours. The list goes on!!! Molly is more than a rescuer. She goes above and beyond that title.

I have fostered many many dogs through Heavens Helpers & absolutely loved it. Running a rescue group is a very tough job & through all the madness Molly does great. I look forward to working with her again in the future! I’ve added pictures of a few of my favorite foster pups... Walter, Andy, & Louie! ❤️

We LOVE Molly and Heaven's Helpers Pet Rescue. After my dog passed away, I happened to see a dog on a facebook post that was up for adoption. I immediately fell in love with him and contacted the rescue. Molly brought Sylvester to my home an hour + away and asked if she could also bring his best friend too, knowing he'd be shy without his buddy. She wanted me to get a real feel for him and his personality and I thought that was really thoughtful and I was appreciative of that. Well, I fell in love with BOTH of them. Molly brought Sylvester and Savannah back for an overnight stay the next week and the rest is history. Sylvester and Savannah found their new home and I had a new family instantly!

I then started volunteering with the rescue and have fostered successfully for Heaven's Helpers once and foster failed once (We now have Max in our pack too!). Molly works tirelessly and gives everything to these animals. Often times they are the dogs no one wants...the elderly, the sick and with that comes so much in terms of time and money and emotional investment. This is an awesome organization nd I'm so thankful for everythnig they do.

I have adopted two precious babies from Heaven's Helpers Pet Rescue. The first time I adopted was a few weeks after the loss of my beloved Boston Terrier to congestive heart failure. My other dog (Angus) and I were so sad and lonely after losing our companion, that I thought it was time to find a new friend for us. I saw Kissie May on Petfinder and fell instantly in love. She was an adorable mix of Shih Tzu and Boston, and her cute little face just called out to me. I reached out to the contact information on Petfinder, and asked for information about Kissie May. Molly answered me quickly, and sent more information as well as the adoption application. I filled out the adoption application, and within a few days we had set up an appointment for Angus and me to meet Kissie at the rescue. Angus and Kissie hit it off immediately, racing around and playing like they'd always known each other. It was a no-brainer for us! A couple of days later Molly had verified our references and application info, and scheduled a home visit. During this home visit she identified a weak spot in my fence, which I happily repaired right away. A day or so later, I picked up Kissie and brought her home!! She's been the joy of our lives ever since.
A year or so later, Angus, Kissie and I had moved in with my retired mother and her Dachshund, Erich. We decided we wanted to try being a foster family to help a rescue dog get a forever home. We called Molly, and she was only too happy to introduce us to the sweetest little 14-year-old grey Toy Poodle named Loretta. She weighed all of eight lbs., and stole our hearts the very first night. Sadly, we ultimately failed at being foster parents. Happily, within about two months, Loretta became a permanent member of our family!! We loved her so much, we just couldn't let her go. We've had Loretta for almost a year now. She's almost 15 years old and still going strong!
Throughout all of our time interacting with HHPR, Molly has been wonderful. She truly cares about her rescue dogs, and puts their welfare above all else. Her heart is for the sick, elderly, or forgotten babies. She makes sure they get all of the veterinary care and support that they need, at great personal cost to herself. She gives 100% of herself to them, and grieves their loss deeply when they must cross the Rainbow Bridge. She has remained a valuable resource to us as adopters, whenever we have questions or need advice about any aspect of pet ownership. I can't imagine what our lives would be like without Kissie and Loretta, and we have HHPR to thank for them.
When the day comes that we look to add another furry family member to our household, the first place I will go will be to HHPR, and Molly!

I'm grateful to Heaven's Helpers for my 2 best companions. I adopted Lovie about 4 years ago and Peaches about 2 years ago. I visited both in Midlothian, then Molly visited my home to be sure it was safe for the dogs. It was a good experience each time. I'm still in touch with Molly and try to send her pics occasionally. I also am a donor and I have ultimate respect for Molly and her staff. The pets always come first with them.

I’m not sure how anyone could say something negative about this grassroots organization. I have adopted two dogs from them. They are amazing. They even arranged transportation from Texas to California for one of our rescues. This is one of the most difficult states in the country to run a rescue, raise money, keep the dogs safe and be sure they go to reputable families.

If you can offer a good home, this is the place to look for your forever friend. I am a donor and a client!

Do not use this rescue! They are not customer service oriented. After filling out application I was immediately told we sounded like a good fit and would we like to meet and when were we available. I replied back same day "yes" and asked some questions about bringing adoption fee, address to meet etc. as their website isn't clear how the process flows. Another two days later I receive reply from Molly mentioning a date and time but no address or answers to my questions. I knew they foster the dogs in volunteer homes. Another two days later it's the day before we are suppose to meet and still have no idea the address or if this meeting is confirmed so I call and leave a message early in the afternoon. By evening still no reply so I email explaining how we have no address or confirmation of the meeting and how my questions haven't been answered. I understand they are busy but we need to be informed. One hour later I receive email stating that on their site they ask for grace and patience while they are busy caring for the animals. That I had tried to contact them on a busy holiday weekend (this being between Xmas and New Years and our meeting was to take place New Years Eve day). Also since I had mentioned that we live an hour away Molly felt we should consider adopting same day locally and that she wishes us good luck in finding our new family member. I was shocked at being treated this way as I've dealt with other rescues. I didn't feel right about my questions being ignored and saw a red flag. So I would steer clear of this one as there are so many appreciative rescues. Just because I had bothered them too often my application was cancelled. So sad.

What a nightmare. I originally reposted a post about a dog named Greta that needed a home. My MIL was very interested, and filled out an application. She was told that the owner (Molly) is extremely picky and hardly adopts her dogs out. They were right. Molly took A WEEK to reply to my MIL and requested a home visit. (Without the dog?) The appointment was at 5. My MIL arranged her weekend plans around this visit. She rushed home, only to wait TWO HOURS for a response-after calling, leaving voicemails, and texts. Molly claimed “she had a sick foster dog” which is totally understandable...but THEN denied even making a home visit at 5. My MIL proceeded to try and make ANOTHER appointment time in the morning after patiently dedicating her whole evening to meeting for this house visit. Shockingly Molly informed her that “this isn’t going to workout” and “good look in your search for a dog.” I am not only embarrassed I suggested adopting through Heaven’s Helpers but I am appalled that a potential adopter would be treated this way! NO WONDER this dog has been fostered for 7 MONTHS!! How can you call yourself a dog rescue when you don’t even give adoptable dogs a chance to be adopted?!
