Terrific all volunteer organization that does difficult and much-needed work with rescued equine, assessing and managing their physical and emotional needs and providing help. Many are then placed in carefully vetted forever homes, others live out their lives on the beautiful land in central Texas under the nurturing care of full time volunteer, Founder and President of the rescue, Shari Frederick.
This is such a wonderful Horse Rescue. Shari dedicates herself to Happy Horse Haven like no other I have seen. Each horse is watched over an cared for. I got my Shakespeare here an is is my baby... every one should experience what its like. To care for these gorgeous animals. Visit or volunteer, you will be glad you did. Michelle smith

HAPPY HORSE HAVEN RESCUE, a Texas 501c3 Nonprofit. Quietly saving horses since 2005. 100% of your IRS tax deductible donations go to horses in need! Check outShari's website on facebook. https://www.facebook.com/shari.frederick1?fref=hovercard
Shari is at HHH Rescue 24/7. She has a love for horses and has brought many horses back to health.
The Rescue is run with volunteers and donations support her efforts. Everyone volunteers and no one is paid a salary. The horses range in age from 1 to 30 years old. Some of the horses have been saved from being slaughtered, from abuse situations.
I have been a volunteer at HHH Rescue dba Happy Horse Haven Rescue in Goldthwaite, TX for 1 1/2 years. I help with feeding and cleaning troughs on Sunday afternoons. We have one gentle giant at Happy Horse Haven Rescue. His name is Mr. Bud and he is a Clydesdale horse. He has made friends with a pony named Lucky. Lucky is in training to be Clydesdale but he's a paint pony. The horses are friendly and I like to bring carrots for them and treats for the dogs. The Rescue is a calm place to help the horses, to relax around them and to touch them. Please find us on facebook as pictures speak louder than words.

HHH Rescue is a nonprofit 501 c 3 all donations will receive a receipt

from individuals like you.
Shari Frederick is at the Rescue 24/7 and receives no salary. She
has a love of horses and dedicates herself to their care. HHH Rescue
is always in need of donations to pay for the feed and hay. There is a need
for more shelters for the horses before winter is here. An ATV is needed to
get to the horses in the back part of the rescue. We would be able to get
to the horses faster than going by truck over rought terrane. Also, to help
transport feed and hay to the current shelters.
I have been a consistant volunteer on Sunday afternoons since January
2013. I scrub out water troughs, fill them back up and help with setting out
hay and feed for the horses. I work on the postcard fundraisers for HHH and
am always looking for other avenues to support HHH Rescue. I help in what-
ever capacity that I am needed. I get to enjoy the peacfulness at the Rescue
and the bond I have with the horses. They liked to be loved on and I bring
carrots for a treat to them. The horses know that they have found a safe haven
here. Some of these horses have been saved from slaughter or abusive situations.
HHH Rescue has horses ready to be adopted and horses to be fostered.
As a Healer I am often asked to help charities. I do my homework before committing my time. When an email came through in 2011 form a Texas Horse non profit charity, asking for my help, I did not even think about it. I replied.
YES PLEASE.
I flew out from UK 4 months later and found myself in the middle of Happy Horse Haven Rescue. I was rendered speechless at what I found there. One woman, the same age as myself, diligently working to help the horses in her care. (there were 52 there then).
We ran a healing class, we had a lovely time and I did not want to come home.
To try and put down in words here, my feelings about HHH is very difficult for me. My words look empty of emotion on a page..the feelings I have for all that is HHH can not be transmitted in writing. To say my heart sings when I think of my return...just words..To say I feel like am coming home...again just words.
I volunteer 2 weeks of every year now in Texas, teaching my healing classes, treating those who come for me to see, helping lighten Shari's load for 2 short weeks...All and every cent of the donations for my time there goes to HHH. Every cent goes 100% to feeding the horses..
You might ask why?
I help because I am humbled by Shari's dedication to her cause and her life Ethic. What she says is what she does. There is no hidden agenda at HHH. What you see IS what there is.
There are no fancy gates. No fancy arena's or plush living conditions for humans. No new tractors or utility vehicles to make Shari's life easy...No sir. Every cent is spent on feeding the (now) 58 horses who reside at Happy Horse Haven Rescue 501c3 non profit. No wages EVER paid from donations. Not EVER
On the 15th October 2013 I shall be making my way back 'home'. We are running 3 healing classes this year...If your in town..call in. You would be made most welcome.
Initially hoping to help a few starving horses by offering grassy land for them to graze in 2005, I still work diligently in networking for safe homes for horses (elsewhere or at HHH), volunteer daily at the rescue & donate feed, hay & services for the 58 resident HHH horses (2013). Quickly realizing feed & a safe location is not enough, time, consistent interaction, supplements, rehab, training (or reintroduction of skills), bombproofing, under saddle time etc. were added priorities. HHH seeks to utilize non drug supports. Natural alternatives are offered to horses when effective & available as a first choice such as enzymes, aloe vera, topical tea tree oil, chamomile etc. Focus is made on each horses specific needs, age & a plan is made for that horse be it sanctuary or for adoption. HHH has a soft spot for seniors & horses with challenges and have had the honor of healthy active horses living up to 43 years of age! HHH's future is geared to more incorporation of horses & humans to overcome fear or diversity and maximize whole body wellbeing through a variety of activities such as yoga, spiritual growth through nature or music, and also riding in small groups as well as grooming and basic interaction which are ALL good for the soul & the horse!
*Adoption is a primarily goal @ HHH with 2 non family references required, and completion & acceptance of an application from responsible, financially stable forever homes with 2-4 yearly follow up photos of the horse, status of health, activities & location to maximize the SAFETY of ALL HHH horses for LIFE!
