Mission: Helping people to save the places that matter, build community, live better charitable services of revitalization and preservation of ohio communities
Programs: Main street program: main street program is the premier revitalization program, licensed to heritage ohio to coordinate on behalf of the national main street center. Twenty-two programs participate. Heritage ohio provides services: educational workshops, board training, strategic planning, and annual evaluations to these programs. Downtown affiliate program, approximately 18 communities participate, heritage ohio provides trainings and workshops to these communities at a junior tier level.
preservation program: workshops and technical assistance are provided to individuals and communities wanting to learn more about incentives and policies regarding historic preservation. Monthly webinars, a benefit of membership, are provided on a variety of preservation and revitalization topics (these are then posted on youtube and made free to all). Frequent topics of interest include, but are not limited to, design review, historic tax credits, grant programs, and preservation techniques.
preservation and advocacy program: heritage ohio provides educational materials to elected representatives in the us congress and ohio general assembly explaining the ways in which government incentive programs are being used. This includes promoting the positive benefits provided to community revitalization due to federal and state historic tax credit programs.
