Mission: What We Do:
HER Story, Inc. honors, empowers, and remembers the service and sacrifice of women veterans by providing a safe environment in which to tell her story and connecting her with valuable resources within her community.
How We Do This:
Encourage the process of unifying the identity of the woman and the veteran.
Provide her a safe environment in which to vocalize her journey as a woman veteran.
Connect the woman veteran to housing, education, holistic care, employment and other community resources as needed.
Sponsor, help and/or participate in events and activities that promote the empowerment of women veterans.
Why We Do This:
The leaders of HER Story faced challenges following their military service and recognize that every woman veteran's journey is as unique as she is. We want to ensure our sisters are equipped with the tools and resources needed to be healthy, happy, and whole following their military service.
Results: Over the past year, we have directly impacted the lives of 50 women veterans and their families by empowering them to openly share their stories of service and sacrifice. The glimmer of hope in their eyes and the sound of inflection in their voices is indicative of hope returning. Additionally, we have been invited to speak at numerous speaking engagements to share the mission of HER Story, Inc. with several hundred individuals from all walks of life. Lastly, through our strategic marketing campaign, we have been able to reach thousands of other individuals to spread the message on the therapeutic power of narrative exploration.
