This is a truly incredible organization. As a former volunteer in Peru, I personally saw the passion and dedication of Help Them Hope's founders to the needs of the young people of Peru. This organization grew out of a real need and is working creatively to meet that need. Any donation, whether monetary or otherwise, would be used to the benefit of many children and young adults. Investing in Help Them Hope is investing in a better future for Peru and the global community.
Help Them HOPE is an important and valuable NGO. John Whelan, Founding Director, is tireless in his dedication to the youth of Peru with disabilities. He has built Help Them HOPE from the ground up and has crafted something that is truly special. In their work with over 100 youth with disabilities in Peru, Help Them HOPE provides education, career guidance, and independent living support. In a world where children and adults with disabilities are rarely given a chance to be successful and independent members of their communities, Help Them HOPE helps by providing an environment where negativity toward disability does not exist and support in the development of self determination and hope abounds.
Many , many people , especially young people with disabilities , miss out on the chance of a decent education in Peru . This is where Help Them Hope , an NGO started by a philanthropic Irishman , named John Whelan , steps into the breach , and does a truly admirable job in helping these teenagers/adults to further their schooling and education . I worked in their centre in Lima , for 6 months in 2011/'12 and , it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life . All the personnel who are employed there are diligent , friendly , professional and welcoming . I cannot wait to go back there in 2013 .
