We at Catholic Charities are grateful for Heidis Hope. We run a food pantry open to the public by weekly. Along with serving our human neighbors we are also able to help their family pets through the donations received with this organization. Thank you all for all you do!
They are great, this nonprofit organanization helps so many animals, they are the best. Trisha is the greatest
Trish from Heidi's Hope does incredible work for both the pets and their humans in her community! She is selfless, passionate, and a true inspiration. Besides supporting their own community, Heidi's Hope goes out of their way to offer a helping hand and donate thousands of pounds of pet food to pets who are part of natural disasters. They are an amazing nonprofit organization!
I love the things that Heidi’s Hope does for the Animals in NC!! Trish has helped so many animals in our State when natural disasters occur and she also has a food bank that provides free food for the elderly in several of the surrounding counties! Heidi’s Hope is an awesome nonprofit!!!
Heidi's Hope is such a great nonprofit organization. Our Food Pantry receives dog and cat food from them each month and it is so appreciated by us as well as our clients. They are always a pleasure to work with!
Heidi’s Hope really is a wonderful nonprofit organization. They really helped me out with my Newfoundlands when we move to Wilmington from Asheville after the hurricane Helene left us in a bad situation. Highly recommend this charity
Heidi's Hope for Homeless Animals Inc has always been a friend to animals and our organization - Brunswick Senior Resources. We receive pet food from this organization which we are able to distribute to homebound seniors in need who love their fur companions but sometimes have difficulty paying for their own needs as well as their pets so the pet food really helps! We are so grateful for Heidi's Hope for Homeless Animals.

I am a case manager for Brunswick Senior Resources which provides services and resources for seniors in Brunswick County NC. I am thrilled to be a partner with Heidi's Hope for Homeless Animals to assist the seniors in our community. Many seniors in the community are low income and just getting by so purchasing pet food for their fur baby is not always in the budget and I have often seen them sharing their food with their pets or going without something they need to afford pet food. Heidi's Hope for Homeless Animals provides a monthly distribution of pet food which I can pick up and distribute to the seniors in our community so that neither the senior nor their fur baby have to worry about where their next meal is coming from. The volunteers with this organization are amazing and made it so easy to receive the pet food needed within our community - Thank you so much to Trish and her amazing volunteers!!
This organization has done so much for OCAS. They are passionate, caring, and organized. By using their pantry, we have helped our low income families have access to pet care items and she has assisted our organization on multiple occasions.
Heidi’s Hope has been a fabulous community partner. We were able to provide food to many of our residents that were not able to provide for their furry friends. We were also able to provide our K9’s with beds. Wonderful friends at Heidi’s Hope
I have seen first hand how much this organization cares for the animals in my local area! They go above and beyond to do as much as they can to help the doggies and kitties. I am honored to have attended and helped at their fundraisers! Thank you for all that you do!
I have helped Heidi's Hope with marketing and photography for many years. It is an amazing organization with a wonderful mission. Everyone involved with the organization is passionate and puts all their efforts into helping homeless animals stay healthy and fed. They really care a lot about what they do and I am glad to be able to work with them when I can.
I have worked providing marketing and photography services for non-profits across Southeast North Carolina, and I can honestly say Heidi's Hope is one of the most fantastic, rewarding, and dedicated organizations it's been my pleasure to be a part of. Trish's passion and energy are infectious and you always feel you are doing something important. I've seen first hand the difference her efforts have made in the lives of homeless cats and dogs across the region. I'm always happy to donate my time and talent when ever Heidi's Hope needs me.
My wife volunteers with this group and I have helped out a bit at times. Some of the food banks have difficulty picking up pet food and supplies at the regularly scheduled distribution dates, so I have helped out by loading up our truck and taking food to them. This organization is top notch and all involved are animal lovers who go to great lengths to help pets and their owners keep them at home where they belong. They sent several pallets of pet food to Ukraine when the war first broke out. They also sent pallets of pet food to other disaster areas and I have helped deliver at those times too. All in all, these people do great work for animals.
I volunteer with this organization because I truly believe it helps pets stay with their owners in these times of higher expenses for everything. It is such a blessing to our community!
I am the owner of a local magazine that promotes shelter adoptions as well as the bond between people and pets. Trish, the founder of Heidi's Hope for Homeless Animals, Inc., has advertised multiple fund-raising/food-raising events within our pages and we have gladly promoted them on our Facebook page as well. Trish is one of the most driven, most dedicated animal advocates that we know - she has an event almost every month to raise awareness of pet overpopulation as well as providing pet food to those most in need, thereby keeping pets out of shelters. She has partnered with a wide array of organizations in our community, such as Social Services, Meals on Wheels, etc. to provide pet food for those on fixed incomes. And she does all this while holding down a full time job! She is truly an asset to our community and has changed many lives - human and animal - for the better.
I personally know the founder of Heidi’s Hope and I know how very passionate she is about her organization! She works tirelessly every day to help homeless animals and works with other organizations to help the elderly and homeless people feed their pets so that they don’t have to decide between feeding themselves or their pets! Heidi’s Hope for Homeless Animals is a great foundation that I will continue to support!
Heidi’s Hope offers innovative solutions for finding homes for pets and helping their adopted parents care for them, such as the nonprofit Pet Food Bank that’s donated over 130,000 lbs of pet food and supplies to families with economic hardship. Executive Director, Trish Arnold is a tireless and passionate advocate. Highly recommended!
This was such a wonderful experience meeting such lovely people who wish to help the animals in our community. They donated a carrier and special kidney food to a member of our community who is on a tight budget, but could not live without his fur baby. Thank you so much for everything you do!
My wife and I have seven (7) rescues in house, five (5) dogs and two (2) cats. When we hit some hard times after moving to the greater Wilmington / Jacksonville area, we reached out to some of the local pet food banks for some help keeping everyone fed. We always made them a priority in our monthly food budget, which meant we also had to rely on local food banks to make ends meet.
The problem that the local pet food banks have is that the need is so great right now, they have to ration the amount of food they give to any one family. As one pet food bank put it, we cannot keep your pets fed, but we can help you with that responsibility. Believe me, we were very grateful for whatever help we could get.
Before long we hit that snag where we didn’t have any money for dog food (or people food!), and we were still a couple of weeks away from either qualifying for another bag of dog food from the shelter or one of our pension checks coming in (we are both retired and on fixed incomes). At that point I started combing the internet again to see if I had missed something when I found the other pet food bank.
This is when I found Heidi’s Hope for Homeless Animals, and realized that she provided food to pet owners who are trying to avoid turning their pets into a shelter, because they cannot afford to feed them. I typed out our story and how we collected these stray or abandoned dogs / cats, without ever having adopted at a shelter. They just found us, or found someone else who couldn't keep them, who found us. Further, this was our second (2nd) group, as we had cared for a group of seven (7) dogs and four (4) cats from 2006-2018. For some reason, Trish “got it” where others sort of missed the point somewhat.
When we met her for the first time, Trish made sure that we had adequate food for our extended fur family, especially since we always feel that we can somehow fit just one (1) more. She also made sure that we felt comfortable contacting her if and when we needed more food or other pet supplies, without setting some type of artificial quota that doesn’t always square with reality.
We feel blessed to have met her and this community is better for having Heidi’s Hope for Homeless Animals. It will be interesting to see where she takes this. Jon & Ang Jones
I met Trish while delivering a truck full of donations and she was amazing! I learned all about their process and story, truly incredible what Heidis Hope is doing for those that can't help themselves.
I am an early college student that is helping design for this organization. As I was looking for information through their website, I had found out just how great the shelter's impact is. This nonprofit organization not only helps the animals but many people in our community as well.
This animal charity is amazing! Their many programs save the lives of homeless and abused dogs and cats and help hurricane impacted areas for pets in need. Their Pet Food Bank is feeding hungry pets in the Wilmington area and are expanding to other areas to save homeless pets and fed pets in desperate need! I highly recommend them!
Heidis Hope for Homeless Animals is amazing! They provide pet food and supplies for seniors in need that are part of the Home Delivered Meals program.
Heidis hope is an amazing organization that does so much for the community! I am truly grateful to be able to help their cause and be a part of their volunteer opportunities. I always look forward to helping them in the future!
This organization that provides pet food and supplies to food banks, domestic violence shelters, DSS and many other deserving groups too numerous to mention here, in several counties in northeastern NC, is amazing! They have also sent pallets of pet food to disaster areas in the US, as well as to Ukraine refugees. Heidi’s Hope is well-organized and helps so many pets in need. I just love the idea of this group and all of the people who help get the food where it needs to go!
Heidi's Hope For Homeless Animals has been a tremendous help in providing their pet food for the clients of our pantry to feed their pets.

You have heard the maxim "Who rescued who?" Well, anyone who has rescued a furry friend of any kind knows they rescued us as much as we rescued them. We recently lost our beloved CharlieBear whom we adopted as a rescue 12 years ago. The joy, love and companionship he gave us cannot be expressed with words. While we were healing, we wanted to donate food and other unused items that could be used to help other dogs' After researching local rescue organizations we were blessed to find Trish and Heidi's Hope. The large and varied scope of services they provide spoke to our hearts. Working with Trish and Heidi's Hope has helped us so much with our healing process. She has a giving heart for animals and the people who love them. We will continue to donate in memory of our dear CharlieBear to help animals in desperate situations. Anyone looking to donate could not find any better organization than Heidi's Hope for Homeless Animals.

They have helped my school club with the distribution of donations we collected and a bit more. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to work with them!
This non-profit is very remarkable!!! There number one goal that they strive to accomplish everyday is to better the lives of animals in our local community!! She does this by creating many different events, which not only brings the community together, but it also helps focus on protecting the animals who can't defend themselves! This is a fantastic non-profit and I most definitely recommend!!!!

One of our hunger-related programs at Good Shepherd Center is a weekly community grocery giveaway. This program provides free food, cleaning supplies, and other necessities to struggling households, especially families with children, the elderly, and those with disabilities. Thanks to Heidi's Hope, we have been able to distribute free pet food to those we serve so that they can take care of their furry family members, too!
Found out about Heidi’s Hope thru my grandson’s animal charity club in high school.

Trish Arnold is the most dedicated animal advocate we know. We are so pleased to be able to recommend this nonprofit to all in the Wilmington area. May God bless the work of this organization.
An organization that assists the homeless and their pets with food and supplies is what Heidi’s Hope for Homeless Animals, Inc. does. Trish Arnold, owner, really cares about the individuals she serves and ensuring their pets get quality food and a variety of supplies such as treats, toys, leashes and collars. There is an enthusiasm that Trish has when delivering to the agencies that shows she really does believe in what she is doing for the community. This organization fills a void in the community for the homeless and their pets. Heidi’s Hope for Homeless Animals, Inc., a 501©3 North Carolina non-profit corporation dedicated to saving lives of homeless dogs and cats in our community.
I am a social worker with New Hanover County DSS. I work with families in the community. A lot of my families have fur babies too. Since Covid, one of my families have gone through financial hardship and at times, they didn't have the money to get their dog her dog food. Luckily, we have this program in New Hanover County that provides dog/cat food for families that can not afford it. All I had to do is let our Assistant Director-Mary Beth know that I had a dog in need and she contacted Heidi's Hope Pet Food Bank. This family was provided with bags of dog food, toys, treats, food/water bowls and a dog bed. I was blown away by the generosity. This family was grateful. This is a valuable resource for our community and families. Thank you Heidi's Hope Pet Food Bank for caring for our animals here in NHC.
I am a social worker at DSS who is working with a family who has 4 pit pulls. The pups were in need of crates within the home. I reached out to Heidi's Hope and was connected with Trish, she was amazing! As soon as I sent the email, she was immediately responsive and eager to help! I met her at her pet distribution site where she donated so many amazing items for these pups! She was able to donate crates, pet food, new leashes and collars, doggy toys, a pet food stand, crate mats, stain remover, dog treats, and she even went as far as to make a stop at the pet store for some goodies for the dogs! I was amazed at how much she cared and was able to donate a variety of items. I really look forward to this partnership and can't wait to work with Heidi's Hope again!
Statistics report that about 60% of the seniors who get Meals on Wheels live with a pet. Our program, the New Hanover County Senior Resource Center has been very blessed with the partnership with Trish Arnold from Heidi's Hope for Homeless Animals, Inc. Unfortunately some clients share their meals with their pets for various reasons, mostly because they couldn’t afford to buy pet food. In some cases, our clients’ pet is their only family or companion.
Studies have been documented that there’s a strong connection between pets and the elderly. Pets fulfill a need for their owners because they depend on them for care and attention. In return, the pets offer love and unqualified approval. Just petting a dog or cat can have major health benefits for seniors, especially those who are experiencing major life changes, such as illness or the loss of a loved one. For many seniors their pets make life worthwhile and for the pets many seniors provide them with life.
With the pet food and supplies - beds, cages, collars, toys, and so much more, the Senior Resource Center has been able to better serve the needs of our vulnerable homebound seniors. Heidi's Hope for Homeless Animals has always been attentive to our needs, not just for cats and dogs, but for parrots, love birds, and guinea pigs, ensuring all of our participants receive the supplies needed.
We have been very fortunate to have this partnership!
This nonprofit has done so many wonderful fundraisers and events for homeless dogs and cats for many years in the Wilmington area. The group is very dedicated and has worked tirelessly to assist the community in finding safe and loving homes for these animals.
Heidi’s Hope for Homeless Animals, Inc. has a tremendous impact on saving lives of animals in desperate need. Their annual fundraiser, The Bow Wow Luau & the Cat's Meow® , has raised and donated over $68,000.00 since 2009. The funds raised from this endeavor have been used to save the lives of homeless and abused dogs and cats. In response to hurricanes over the past three years, Heidi’s Hope has led community-wide pet donation drives to fill tractor trailers with over 53,305 lbs. of pet food and supplies that were delivered to pets in these hurricane-impacted areas. They hosted a mega-pet adoption event, WoofStock, that adopted 26 formerly-homeless pets within four hours, an amazing outcome! Most recently, Heidi’s Hope has started a Pet Meals on Wheels Program and a Pet Food Bank, a combined effort to nurture and sustain the pet and owner relationship. Donations to Heidi’s Hope for Homeless Animals truly make a lifesaving gift to animals in desperate need!
For as long as I have known the founder of Heidi's Hope and prior to the founding this non-profit, Patricia Arnold worked tireless to protect, feed and find shelter for homeless cats and dogs. Heidi's Hope has been doing incredible work during the last few years and is now helping families keep and their furry family members stay together during this very difficult time in our history. Heidi’s Hope for Homeless Animals is a non-profit organization which has provided exemplary aid to animals, pets, of the New Hanover County, Wilmington area, in addition to boarders beyond the State of North Carolina. The aid extended to animal shelter(s) in the State of Florida after it was hit by a Hurricane is just one of the many sources of relief provided. Like the unconditional love a recipient receives from an animal/pet, the same is given by Heidi’s Hope for Homeless Animals that are in need of rescuing. The City of Wilmington and New Hanover County is blessed to have an organization such as this. It has stood the test of time and continues to provide aid to many!!

This nonprofit is one after my heart as it concentrates on helping animals and most recently those with pets who struggle to feed them. Great community standing. I have been to and participated in several fundraisers so I see first hand how hard and diligent Trish works whether its organizing the events or ensuring that the funds and/or material/food donations get to where they need to go. Highly recommend this organization to anyone looking to volunteer for or donate to.
