Hannah’s Southern Paws is an incredible organization led by a truly selfless and compassionate woman. Hannah consistently puts the well-being of dogs in need above all else—even using her own money to cover their care when donations fall short. She has saved countless underdogs—many facing major medical challenges and euthanasia in high-kill shelters—who would not have survived without her intervention.

What sets Hannah apart is the time, love, and dedication she pours into each dog’s recovery—not just physically, but emotionally. Dogs who arrive shut down and scared leave her care transformed, more confident, and ready to thrive because she shows them that the world doesn’t have to be a scary place.

Hannah is deeply committed to making sure every dog she adopts out is healthy, fully vetted, and matched with a home that truly suits their individual needs. She thoroughly screens every adopter and foster to ensure her dogs will be safe, happy, and loved. She takes the time to evaluate each dog’s personality, so she can accurately represent them, and she educates adopters on how to successfully integrate their new companion into their home—offering support even after the adoption is complete.

She provides her fosters with all necessary supplies, covers 100% of veterinary care and related expenses, and offers unwavering support throughout the entire fostering process up until the dogs are adopted. If a foster dog needs professional training, she won’t hesitate to hire a trainer to work with the dog and foster.

I can’t recommend this organization enough. Hannah is a beautiful soul inside and out, and anyone lucky enough to foster for, adopt from, or volunteer for her organization will have a truly wonderful experience.

Advertising dogs as dog friendly that are not specialized at all... We adopted a 7 month old puppy that was listed as good with other dogs . After 5 days the dog started guarding my wife from our other 2 dogs. The dog lunged at one of our other dogs trying to viciously attack..knocking my wife down and putting her in a leg cast ... We had our vet and a trainer meet with the dog... They were both of the mindset the dog had severe anxiety and had no business being in a ho.e with other dogs. We called and let HSP know we needed to return the dog and why... We returned the dog and my wife was crying because she really wanted to give this new pup a great life... She and I both expressed to HSP the dog didn't need to be listed as dog friendly... And we were of the belief the dog needed to be a one dog household. The very next day the same dog was back up and listed as dog friendly..... The adoption fee was $500.... She didn't even have the decency to offer a portion back to us after my wife's injury and hospital visit bill. We have always adopted from operation kindness.... They are very concerned about making sure the dogs are advertised and vetted correctly to avoid an accident. We will end up going back there because of the unprofessionalism and dangerous situation that HSP put our family in.
