Habitat for humanity yuba/sutter supports the building of homes for families in need by habitat for humanity international.
the organization's retail recycling facility, the restore, sells quality donated building materials at greatly discounted rates to all members of the general public. This project should allow low-income homeowners, in particular, the opportunity to save their homes from disrepair. The materials collected and funds raised increase the organization's home building capacity.
the organization expanded the youthbuild program - an education and life skills program where young adults can earn their diploma or ged while gaining apprenticeship in the field of construction.
I have donated to this charity for the last two years. In 2013, a friend of mine, a disabled women, trying to raise two daughters while going through a mess of problems, was able to get a home through this program. She was so worried, for so long, what she was going to do. Now she and her children have a home. Bless this charity for all that they do.
