Causes: Children & Youth, Children & Youth Services, Mental Health, Substance Abuse Prevention, Youth Development Programs
Mission: To provide recreational services and drug prevention programs to youth and families in the interest of preventing drug use, delinquency and other destructive activites during idle leisure time.
Programs: Office of alcohol and substance abuse: prevention programs for drug and alcohol use amongst youths. Gvyc does court intervention, crisis counseling, tutoring, ged prep and has a drop in center. All participants are exposed to evidence based drug prevention curriculum. Approx. 1600 at risk youth served annually.
other programs: academic, recreational and multicultural activities as well as after school programs and meals to youths and families in need. Gvyc provides a full array of athletic activities featuring our famous west 4th st basketball league for boys and girls.
