Over several years I donated to the YMCA's strong kids campain. I strongly believed in this charity. However over the past 2 years thng have changed. I have noticed with millions of dollars in donations from the community and other organizations. The money is not being used. First the facility is falling apart (literally). Also the children have playgrounds filled with broken toys. The playgrounds are unsafe. Next community members may apply for scholarships, however the guy in the parking lot with a new BMW will be the one to recieve the scholarship. This YMCA only helps and reaches out to people in the community who in return will help them. They give the YMCA a bad name, and this is unfortunate because most YMCA's are a help to the community!

Programs: Youth development - the ymca is a leader in nurturing the potential of every child and teen. Every day, the ymca helps young people deepen positive values, their commitment to service, and their motivation to learn. Our ymca programs, such as before and after school child care and preschool programs, offer a range of experiences that enrich cognitive, social, physical and emotional growth. Expenses include subsidies and direct financial assistance that enable 50% percent of young people to participate in these early learning opportunities.
healthy living - ymca's focus on healthy living by advocating health and well-being from the inside out - the spirit, mind and body. In 2017, our ymca provided over 11,000 members with the supportive relationships and environments they need for their successful pursuit of health and well-being. This is particularly important as our nation struggles with an obesity crisis, families struggle with work/life balance and individuals search for personal fulfillment. We bring families together, and offer sport, recreational and social networks that build relationships and strengthen bonds. Our programs are accessible, affordable and open to all faiths, backgrounds, abilities and income levels.
social responsibility - our ymca provides a variety of programs to develop personal educational /vocational/ leadership skills, and we partner with other community organizations to identify and respond to community needs. Ymca programs, such as project graduation, drowning prevention and fun days, are examples of how our ymca develops social responsibility that strengthens our community and builds the foundation for future generations to thrive. We have engaged hundreds of ymca members, participants and volunteers in activities that build social responsibility.
