Causes: Economic Development
Mission: The hamilton mill is a regional platform connecting startups with the resources they need to be successful. We bring together the regional resources of the business and academic communities, sources for financing, technical expertise and agency level federal and state government grant, loan and development programs. The hamilton mill exists to benefit the community by fostering increased employment opportunities through the growth of advanced small business and industry. The mill is an award-winning provider of public/private partnerships, leveraging that power to advance clean-tech commercialization. Member firms are supported by programs to access expertise, resources, local talent and general business development.
Programs: Small business development center program: counsel and mentor small business prospects - state and federally sponsored and hosted by the hamilton mill. 2016 results are the following: *total clients 295 *counseling hours 1304 *long term clients 83 *capital infusion $3,065,326 *business starts 58 *jobs created 183 *jobs retained 261 *sales increase $3,006,466 *training sessions 20 *training attendees 152
pipeline h20: the hamilton mill completed its first cohort of pipeline h2o from february through may of 2017 with 6 companies selected to participate. 2 winners were selected by their peers to receive $25k/per company in grant funding to continue their efforts. Pipeline h2o is a regional water-tech commercialization program that identifies and commercializes the world's leading water-based startup technologies. We leverage the country's premier public-private water innovation cluster to provide customers, mentors, and support. Pipeline's unique go-to-market platform allows startups to pilot locally and deploy globally.
city as a lab: a richly developed network of public, private, and nonprofit partners dedicated to pilot testing startup product for market validation purposes. Currently 15 companies engaged with our city as a lab program. Industrialist xchange: a member's only forum comprised of engineers, coders, designers, sales and marketing professionals. Member firms can post questions or call for assistance in exchange for their services (or reduced fees) for being part of the hamilton mill community. Currently 15 companies representing 30 individuals. Process optimization consultancy: venturing into the small business landscape can be extremely difficult and expensive - it does not have to be that way though. We provide our startups with tools and programs that can greatly reduce their costs and operational burdens by utilizing cloud-based applications and resources that are often free. Currently 15 companies.
