Causes: Sports, Sports Associations & Training Facilities
Mission: To provide u. S. Ski association-certified coaching staff to train and instruct young (8-19 year old) alpine ski racers. The goal of the coaching staff is to develop young athletes and provide them with competitive opportunities such that they may attain national and/or world class status at the amateur level, while maintaining scholastic excellence and sportsmanship at a reasonable cost.
Programs: Coaches travel with our athletes to races. Coaches provide course inspections, waxing techniques and mental preparedness for these reces. Coaches travel to five regional races, which involve 10-15 racers from 10 through 19 years of age. There are four mid-am races that involve 3-4 days per race, which qualifty racers for the junior olympics for 15-19 year olds. Racers of theis age can qualify for the u. S. Development team. A championship race qualifies the younger racers for their age-appropriate junior olympics.
coaching staff provides daily 2-3 hours, race training. This includes race techniques that maximize equipment and athlete potential. Video recording and analyzation is used on a daily basis. The reace season lasts 5 to 6 months, and includes 30 to 40 racers.
