Mission: To educate the citizens of grant county and surrounding areas in the fields of livestock, poultry, crops and home economic activities.
Programs: Home economics/livestock competition and show: the object is to foster talents and skills in each of the designated areas plus allow participants to develop a sense of personal pride and community support. The livestock portion of the activity also fosters a learning of proper methods of livestock production, record keeping and management practices. The home economics/livestock program has approximately 500 entries. Attendance to view the entries averages 500 to 600 daily during the five day event.
rodeo: the objective is to foster the learning of proper methods of horsemanship, development of fair play and self-discipline and build up personal pride. The event draws approximately 75 participants. Average night attendance is 500 for the two night event.
beauty pageant/talent show/parade: the objective is to nurture posie, manners, and development of talent in the contestants while developing a sense of fair play, self-discipline, confidence and community spirit. The pageant/talent show draws approximately 50 participants. Average attendence to the event is 200. The parade draws approximately 75 to 100 participants with attendance running approximately 500 people.
