Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Philanthropy, Philanthropy, Voluntarism & Grantmaking Foundations

Mission: Giving to the Nations is an organization devoted to advancing the lives of others. We have been serving our community since 2017; looking at the need, building relationships, supplementing and supporting moderate, low and very low income individuals and families.

Results: Our Healthy Essentials Pantry is providing personal care and household cleaning products to those in need. Feeding America in their research project In Short Supply: American Families Struggle to Secure Everyday Essentials “found that many American families struggle to afford basic non-food household goods—including products related to personal care, household care and baby care—and, as a result, make trade-offs with other living expenses and employ coping strategies to secure essential household goods.” [1] We have strategically partnered with local businesses to secure personal care and household cleaning products on a consistent basis, giving us the ability to ensure the availability of these critically needed items for the “working poor” and “in poverty” residents in Racine County. It has been a privilege through the generosity of many local businesses and individuals to already have: • Provided food to Racine and Kenosha area nonprofits supplementing their hot meal programs. • Provided individuals and families with grocery gift cards and nonperishable food. • Provided 123 families with personal care and household cleaning products.[2] • Provided toothbrushes and toothpaste to a local nonprofit for their street outreach. • Provided holiday gifts to Racine County Jail inmate’s families and the families of a local elementary school.[3] • Provided personal care and household cleaning products, housewares, bedding, towels, clothing and toys to individuals and families: in rehabilitation homes; in homeless shelters; to families reunited out of incarceration and foster care; families of incarcerated individuals; working individuals and families who needed a little help (“working poor”); individuals and families in transitional living facilities, rehousing programs, and low income housing.
