Mission: We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
Results: In the Spring of 2010, Girls on the Run of Stark County launched our first season. That first season, programs were held at Allen Elementary, Jackson Memorial Middle School, and Orchard Hill Elementary. Twenty four girls completed the season with our inaugural Girls on the Run 5k at Walsh University in June 2010. Since our first season, we have touched the lives of more than 1,000 girls and their families. We have continued to expand our programming into new schools and school districts, and we are serving more girls with each passing year. In the Spring of 2013, we offered 32 programs and reached more than 470 girls. The spring 2014 season showed significant growth, as we served 624 girls through 43 Girls on the Run and Girls on Track programs throughout Stark County. In the spring of 2015 showed conservative growth, as we served 653 girls through 46 Girls on the Run and Girls on Track programs throughout Stark County. With the new middle school program, Heart & Sole, replacing Girls on Track, we expect 2016 to show significant growth.
