Mission: Girl scouts of northern new jersey (gsnnj) provides the girl scout leadership experience to girls throughout 4 1/2 counties in northern nj. As a leading not-for-profit youth organization, gsnnj is dedicated to building girls' leadership skills through experiential learning facilitated by dedicated adult role models. Girl scouting was founded in 1912.
Programs: Gsnnj) is an independent 501(c)(3) organization with a girl scouts of the usa charter to deliver girl scouting in its jurisdiction. Gsnnj provides the girl scout leadership experience to over 28,000 girls throughout 4 1/2 counties in northern nj. The girl scout leadership experience engages girls in discovering themselves, connecting with others, and taking action to make the world a better place. Girl scout program activities are usually girl led and encourage learning by doing (experiential learning), and cooperative learning. Girl scouts of northern new jersey provides an array of program activities including science/technology/engineering/arts/math (steam), environmental education and camping, the largest fiancial literacy program for girls in the world-the cookie program, financial literacy, college preparation and anti-aggression (bullying).
