 The mission of the Georgia Innocence Project (GIP) is to free the wrongly prosecuted in Georgia and Alabama through DNA testing, to advance practices that minimize the chances that others suffer the same fate, to educate the public that wrongful convictions are not isolated or rare events, and to help the exonerated rebuild their lives.

Target demographics: Free the wrongly prosecuted through the use of DNA testing.

Geographic areas served: Georgia and Alabama

Programs: We will assist and/or advise any inmate who writes to us. To date we have had more than 5,700 requests for case review.
