Mission: The mission of Friends of Fort Dupont Ice Arena is to bring to the young people of Washington, DC, particularly those from the neighborhoods nearby the Fort Dupont Ice Arena, increased opportunity, education and inspiration through educational and athletic programs. These programs are provided by managing and revitalizing the Fort Dupont Ice Arena, a community oriented public ice skating and learning center. The arena is the only public indoor ice rink in the City of Washington.
Programs: Fdia provides instructional skating to school-age children from the nearby neighborhood, including programs with approximately 50 public schools. Regular skating lessons and class opportunities are provided to the general public and members of the community. In addition, the arena is provided to allow for practice and games for university, high school, and league hockey teams.
