Mission: Friends of caritas cubana enhances the capacity of caritas cubana - the island's equivalent of catholic charities - to make life-changing improvements for the most vulnerable people in cuba. We support and enhance the programs of caritas by providing; daycare and afterschool care for children at risk, training, meals, and therapy for the disabled and those with down syndrome or autism, nutrition and recreation programs for over 40,000 elderly, community support services for those with hiv/aids, and emergency relief for victims of hurricanes and other natural disasters. Caritas cubana serves people of all religious backgrounds.
Programs: Remitted to caritas in cuba $623,090 for programs for the elderly, children, people with hiv/aids, disabled children, children with autism and children and adults with down syndrome, we also support self-sufficiency initiatives.
