Programs: Operated local bricks farmers' market for local farmers to sell their own produce. Grew a 5-acre fruit and vegetable garden, producing thousands of pounds of a large variety of fruits & vegetables. Operated a summer food pantry with donated locally grown vegetables and fruit to hundreds of low income families through area churches. One of the major programs of fcab is the bricks museum and library project which provides students and community residents of the surrounding areas with opportunities to better understand their own richcommunity resources, culture and history. The project demonstrates how this knowledge plays a vital role in individual and community transformation leading to better educational outcomes, racial understanding, and community development. The project provides tours, storytelling, workshops, books, videos, exhibits, and cultural education classes and events. Bricks healthy lifestyles project provides health and recreational activities to the local community. The project offers water safety classes, swimming lessons, recreational swimming, aquatic exercise classes, aerobic exercises and walking trails.
